BY-LAW ENFORCEMENT OFFICER l
Temporary – Summer Employment
Working in the By-Law Enforcement & Licensing Section,you will specifically provide by-law enforcement within the City of Surrey’s Parks during the 2010 Summer season. You will be responsible for inspections and regulatory investigational work involving the enforcement of City By-laws. Processing By-law violations and complaints, recommending legal action and gathering sufficient evidence to support charges and information’s is integral to this position. You must be an effective communicator and deal tactfully with the public and co-workers. A strong customer service focus is a must. This temporary assignment will begin approximately May 1, 2010 and end August 31, 2010.
The candidate must possess the following:
• Completion of Grade 12 supplemented by a diploma/degree in criminology, judicial proceedings, regulatory/public administration.
• Minimum of 4 years related enforcement experience or field investigative experience, OR and equivalent combination of knowledge and experience in an enforcement or investigative field.
• Successful completion of By-Law Enforcement and Investigative Skills Level 1 or equivalent.
• Valid BC Driver’s license with a safe driving record
• Must be able to obtain and maintain the RCMP Level ll Security Clearance
• Ability to work a non-standard work week
• Ability to begin temporary fulltime employment, approximately May 1, 2010.(Assignment will end August 31, 2010).
