Admin Assistant - Health & Safety (Richmond, BC)

HAZCO Environmental Services, a division of CCS Corporation, is an environmental contractor specializing in environmental construction, remediation, waste management, and demolition services. We are a fast-paced, dynamic workplace whose comprehensive services are backed by corporate infrastructure, dedicated personnel, extensive project experience and specialized equipment assets. Due to continued growth, we are looking for a Administrative Assistant for our Health & Safety Department to join our dynamic Pacific Region team based out of Richmond, BC. Strong interpersonal skills, the ability to manage multiple priorities and flexibility are crucial. This position is a 12 month contract for maternity leave relief with the possibility of continued employment.
Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
- facilitating new hire orientations and training
- subcontractor prequalification management
- coordination of training updates and requirements for employees
- issuing training certifications and maintaining tracking database
- data entry of JSAs, incidents, etc. in to database
- coordination of regional safety points
- administration of employee safety files and records
- maintain database with regional Driver’s Abstracts
- input of safety binder documentation in to tracking system
As the successful candidate, you will preferably have several years’ office administration experience. Preference will be given to those with previous experience in the Occupational, Health & Safety environment. Strong computer skills are a necessity (Excel, Word, Outlook) along with strong interpersonal skills. You must have the ability to work with and build relationships with a diverse group at all levels of the organization. You must maintain a focus on customer service and have the ability to multitask, handle multiple priorities, and be effective in an unstructured, dynamic environment. Attention to detail, accuracy, and good follow up skills are a must, along with strong organizational skills.
