Plant Controller/Cost Accountant (Langley)
at Human Resources in Vancouver
For our client you will have a designation of either CGA, CMA or CA, with at least 5 years experience in industry with a manufacturing company. You will have MRP/ERP experience and good knowledge on cost accounting including standard costing experience, plus a good knowledge of Canadian GAAP as well as IFRS (International Financial Reporting Standards).
You are well organized and attention to detail, self starter, have experience with managing accounting staff, SAP experience or similar large MRP/ERP experience, and an understanding of PST and GST with either completion and or review of Monthly reports to tax authorities.
You will have bank reconciliation and supplier statement reconciliation experience, with good analytical skills for review of month end inventory analysis, fixed asset analysis, prepaids and accruals. You are responsible for variance analysis knowledge including labor efficiencies, material variances and Purchase price variance.
You have a good working knowledge of Excel, Word and PowerPoint, and know basic labor law and experience of working in a union environment. You have experience with forecasts and budgeting process, are able to work in a fast paced environment and meet tight deadlines. You have an understanding of profit and cost centers, and good knowledge of internal controls.
Experience with Fixed Asset sub ledgers and control accounts. Some payroll tax knowledge would be advantageous such as car allowances, standby charges, Auto leases and other taxable benefits. Experience with Inventory full counts as well as cycle counts
