Accounting Manager (Surrey)

We have an exciting opportunity for a designated Accountant to work with two entrepreneurs. As the Accounting Manager you will be responsible for managing all the financial needs of two privately owned investment holding companies with worldwide investments. Their portfolio consists of Real Estate properties, operating businesses and a variety of charity organizations. As this is a small office you will be required to handle the routine day to day tasks and a provide input through accurate reporting and data analysis.
Responsibilities will include:
• Supporting the owners with investment decisions by providing thorough reporting and data analysis. This will often involve the production of ad-hoc financial reports on short notice.
• Act as a representative for the companies in dealing with third parties such as banks, mortgage companies, accounting firms and other external entities.
• Work closely with external tax advisors to assist in domestic and international tax planning and tax reporting.
• Preparation of monthly financial reporting package.
• Responsible for Full Cycle Accounting.
• Develop and implement controls to safeguard assets.
• Manage and maintain accurate records of various investments including equities, real estate and other investment products.
Qualifications:
• Accounting Designation – CGA or CMA preferred.
• At least 3 years experience in a senior accounting role.
• Familiarity with various financial market products is a definite asset.
• Ability to produce accurate and comprehensive reports in a timely manner.
• Exposure to international tax and multi currency issues preferred.
• Flexible to change.
• Superior interpersonal and communications skills.
• Able to multi-task and effectively manage multiple projects.
• Accuracy and attention to detail is essential.
• Able to work independently with minimal supervision.
• Able to travel outside the province once per month for 3 to 4 days. Occasional international travel may be required.
• Able to work flexible hours when required.
