full time Fund Administrator (Richmond BC)

This position provides full-cycle accounting services in a fund accounting system using Simply Accounting and Raiser’s Edge (fundraising database). Includes day to day bookkeeping, accounts payable and receivable, bank deposit and reconciliation, monthly financial reports, prepare lead sheets and other information for annual audit.

Responsible for the administration, maintenance and management of donations and donor records including data entry, tax receipting, and producing reports.

Must be able to handle sensitive or private information; flexible and able to cope with changing priorities; excellent organizational & communication skills; able to work independently and as a member of a small, dynamic team; pleasant telephone manner essential; ability to work well under pressure, in a multi-task environment with time and resource constraints; proficient user of Windows Microsoft Office Suite, and database management systems.

Responsibilities:
• Administer and manage the processing of donations, tax receipts, donor and database records and fund development correspondence.
• Make bank deposits; process accounts payable; code invoices and cheques; and track fund balances
• Prepare monthly reports to CEO, Finance Committee and Board
• Provide quantitative data and donor reports for all fundraising initiatives
• Assists in special events and other donor related programs and activities as required.
• Provides switchboard relief duties

Qualifications:
• University degree, professional designation
• Minimum of three to five years work experience in bookkeeping/accounting role or database management.
• Advanced proficiency in Raiser’s Edge, MS Word, and Excel.
• Familiarity with charities and fund accounting an asset
• Tax receipting experience and knowledge of CRA charitable tax receipting guidelines.
• Ability to attend evening and weekend functions, if and when required.
• Exceptional interpersonal and donor and volunteer relations skills.
• Proven ability implementing, administering and managing donor and database records and reports.
• Strong communication skills – must be fluent in English
• Superior organizational, time management and multi-tasking skills.
• Excellent written and oral communication skills.
