Team Lead, Interactive Design

The Team Lead provides team leadership to a small group of interaction designers and web developers working on a diverse range of projects or tasks of varying complexity and scope. The successful candidate will provide user experience and creative direction to the team, undertaking the more critical tasks themselves. This position will encompass both leadership duties and design duties.
As the successful candidate you hold a university degree in human computer interaction (or equivalent) and 6 – 9 years (minimum) relevant experience in a specific technical or functional area, including leadership of staff and analysis and problem solving of complex issues. As the creative leader of the team, you have the ability to quickly understand users’ needs and clients’ desires, to distil these to their elements and communicate them to your team. You have worked on a range of creative challenges within the corporate world, and have demonstrated the ability to think strategically to support clients’ objectives. At the same time, you have sufficient technical understanding of web technologies to not only understand what is possible, but also to provide leadership to the team of web developers.
You have the ability to assign and monitor work, keep team members focused on schedules and objectives, build strong team relationships, take ownership of individual and team results, and foster a sense of urgency and dedication to delivering on commitments. You will also have the ability to think analytically and develop effective solutions to problems. Highly developed analytical, problem solving, organizational and time management skills are assets. The ability to communicate effectively both orally and in writing with clients, technical teams and other co-workers, work to schedules, and adapt easily to changing priorities and business needs are required. You will have the ability to work on multiple projects with conflicting deadlines in a team environment. Finally, you will have excellent customer service, client management and team leadership skills.
