full time Accounting Clerk (Downtown, Vancouver)

Looking to boost your resume with a challenging Accounting Clerk position? This is an immediate opening located at the headquarters of a world leading mining company based in Downtown Vancouver.

The company is well established and has a reputation built on a long history of exploration discoveries and mine development. A high level of professionalism and an emphasis on teamwork is evident throughout the whole company.

Reporting to the Supervisor of Corporate Accounting, your role would primary involve:

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Accounts Payable – matching, batching and coding
• Weekly cheque runs
• Posting payments and journal entries to meet supplier credit terms and monthly accounting deadlines
• Complete credit applications as requested
• Provide expenditures and cash receipts on a daily basis
• Data entry of AP, AR, Journals etc.
• Provide support to the Corporate Accounting Clerks
• Ad-hoc projects as required


REQUIREMENTS:

• 5 years+ accounting experience
• Strong spreadsheet and computer skills
• Excellent oral and written communication skills
• Strong interpersonal skills – the ability to communicate with staff at various levels
• Thorough knowledge of GAAP and SOX


ASSETS:

• Large company experience
• CGA or CMA student
• Experience with deadline orientated assignments
