Assitant Controller (Downtown Vancouver)

Assistant Controller ~ Financial Reporting & Tax
•Manage Accounts Payable, General Ledger, financial reporting and annual audit.
•Manage the efficiency and effectiveness of the “procurement to payment” cycle to ensure service standards are met.
•Obtain and maintain a thorough understanding of the financial reporting and general ledger structure.
•Develop and maintain controls and procedures to ensure accurate and reliable data to support business and financial operations.
•Ensure compliance of accounting transactions in accordance with GAAP and corporate policies.
•Preparation of monthly Corporate tax working papers and entries globally.
•Ensure an accurate and timely monthly, quarterly and year end close.
•Manage the accurate, timely and reliable preparation of monthly, quarterly and annual financial statements (target close days of three to four with zero errors),
•Manage the effective and timely operations of accounting functions such as financial statement consolidation, general ledger and bank reconciliations, expense analysis, deferred revenue accounting, regulatory filings, etc.
•Manage and coordinate the annual audit process including preparation of year -end financial statements, working papers, Corporate tax, etc.
Experience Required:
•A minimum 7 to 8 years of progressive accounting experience in multi-entities & multi-currencies environment
•A minimum 3 to 5 years relevant managerial experience
•Some experience in Corporate tax preferred
•Experience in ERP systems
•Experience in Software industry preferred
Education Required:
•Bachelors in Accounting or Finance and/or an accounting designation (CA, CGA, CMA)
