Database Admin/System Administrator (Gastown)

We are looking for a Database Admin/System Administrator to join our fast growing Information Systems team. This is a unique opportunity to enjoy challenging work with a great group of passionate professionals in a booming industry.
Job Description/ Duties & Responsibilities:
At Global Relay, our Systems Administrators run the business. Reporting to the Manager of System Administration, the DBA/Sys Admin works in a 24/7 production environment responsible for the design, administration and maintenace of the database infrastructure of Global Relay’s enterprise products, as well as associated Sys Admin tasks. The DBA/Sys Admin will also work closely with Development to ensure systems are built and maintained to the highest standards, including the development and design of future systems.
Responsibilities:
• Database and Data Warehouse Administration, Development, Performance Tuning
• Server Capacity Planning and Administration
• Security Planning and Reviews
• Database and Reporting Development
• Disaster Recovery Planning
• Schema design and database automation
• Work closely with Development team to increase database efficiency and design scaleable products
• May supervise other workers in this group
Qualifications:
• Bachelor's degree, with three years experience installing and administering medium to large UNIX/Linux/Windows systems in a complex network environment.
• Significant experience in MS SQL Server and PostgreSQL Database Administration
• Experience with stored procedures scripting/scripting programming, advanced troubleshooting, and developing solutions in a complex network enviornment
• Understands and can apply high availability concepts.
• Excellent interpersonal skills, self-motivation, and team-player approach.
• Learns quickly, able to manage multiple priorities
