Summary:
The Network Administrator, works directly with the Manager of Information Technology, to maintain the overall health of the network infrastructure and electronic communications. Tasks include monitoring, backup and problem resolution of all technology related systems that fall within the scope of IT.
Job duties and responsibilities include but are not limited to:
• Provide software and hardware helpdesk support for all internal and remote end users.
• Administer and troubleshoot the full suite of Windows 2003/2008 Server products, including but not limited to Exchange Server, SQL Server, Backup Exec, McAfee EPO, VPN, RAS Servers, IIS Server, Sharepoint Portal Server and ISA Server.
• Install and troubleshoot the full suite of Microsoft products, including Office suite, Visio, Project and Visual Studio.
• Server and desktop hardware and software installation and troubleshooting.
• Ensure strong security in place at all times and inherent in all systems from the ground up.
• Support network infrastructure equipment such as hubs, switches, routers, DNS and DHCP servers.
• Maintain and enhance the automated build process.
• Create and update System Support documents.
• Staging and testing of production servers.
• Virtualization support with VMware and/or Hyper V or Virtual Server 2005
Qualifications required for this position:
• MCSE or MCSA 2000/2003 certifications required.
• Bachelor’s degree or post secondary education in a related field, as well as A+ hardware certification would be an asset.
• At least 2 years experience with Windows 2000/2003, XP, Microsoft applications and BackOffice solutions.
• Working knowledge of network topologies, network protocols (TCP/IP) and switches.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Must have strong organizational skills
• Criminal record check and security clearance required
