Station Hosts
Responsibilities:
•Customer Service - Answering inquiries and assisting customers such as providing directions, bus information, helping with TVMs.
•Fare Compliance - Performing fare inspections on board trains and at stations.
•Providing a Visible Presence - Watching for and deterring potential problems to prevent security incidents. .
•Assess:-complete daily Station assessment ( parking lot, building and platform for maintenance, vandalism or safety related issues ) and report any related incidents
•Open TVM security cabinets and check all TVM’s and parking machines to ensure that they are functioning properly
•Perform light janitorial duties: collecting and disposing litter, cleaning glass panels and TVMs, sweeping and discarding broken glass planes, sweeping parking lots, general tiding and disposing of garbage) All Attendants are required to keep the assigned Stations in a neat and tidy condition
•Seasonal maintenance: Snow removal or de-icer application
•Perform other related miscellaneous duties as directed.
Qualifications:
•Grade 12 or equivalent.
•Leadership experience/aptitude
•Experience dealing with large crowds would be an asset
•Basic Emergency First Aid training would be an asset
•Other types of relevant work/volunteer experience that would involve a broad range of public contact.
•Knowledgeable about West Coast Express
•Ability to demonstrate excellent customer service skills
•Ability to carry out routine janitorial tasks, such as cleaning, sweeping, garbage pick-up and disposal, graffiti removal and snow clearing (10lbs lift requirement)
•Flexible Schedule: Weekdays and Weekends availability required. (avg 4 hour shifts weekdays and 8 hour shifts weekends, split shifts available).
•Willing work OT
•Enjoy working outside.
•Available to work February 12 – 28th.
