Manager, Succession and Estate Planning (Downtown)

Staff Systems is currently recruiting for a Manager, Succession and Estate Planning (SEP) for their client, a large organization located downtown. The Manager, Succession and Estate Planning will act as a key member of a dynamic Tax practice, with plenty of opportunities to play a lead role on small to medium client engagements and advise clients in varied industries on SEP tax strategies.
Responsibilities will include:
- Review of estates and trust returns
- Completion, review and implementation of detailed SEP-based reorganizations
- Estate and succession planning for high-net worth individuals and Family Enterprise clients
- Presentations to clients and advisors regarding succession and estate planning issues
- Contribute to new business development by understanding identifying, qualifying sales opportunities and closing sales, and identify opportunities to partner with other practice areas to deliver cross-functional services to clients
- Participation in National succession and estate planning teams
- Completion of post-mortem estate planning
Skills and Requirements:
- Minimum 3-5 years experience specializing in Tax Succession and Estate Planning, preferably in public practice
- CA, CGA, or CMA designation or other comparable post-graduate accreditations or experience, which includes LLB, Masters in Tax and TEP designation
- Completion of CICA In-Depth tax course (ideally) or significant experience in estates and trusts area
- Significant past experience in Canadian income tax will be recognized if qualifications above are not held
- A commitment to exceptional client service
- Sound organizational skills
- Strong oral and written communication skills
- Strong desire to learn and continually expand their skill set
