Commissionaires BC is currently looking for reliable hard-working people to work with us in Chilliwack BC as Animal Control Officers. This is a seven-day per week daytime operation with the possibility of after-hour call-outs. We are currently looking for Part-Time workers.
Animal Control Officers are responsible for upholding all of the city's Bylaws pertaining to animals. This includes but is not limited to:
removing and transportating animals including aggressive dogs;
cleaning kennels and feeding animals being housed in the kennels;
removing animal carcasses that are on Chilliwack public property; a
following-up with all necessary administrative responsibilities.
Successful candidates will have:
• An understanding of dog behaviour and body language
• An understanding of different dog breeds and their traits
• The ability to deal with aggressive dogs
• The ability to handle stressful situations
• Strong customer service and conflict resolution skills
• Strong communication skills both written and spoken with the ability to provide clear, detailed documentation
• A clean criminal background
• The ability to lift 50 lbs
• Valid First Aid certification
• Super Host or World Host certification
