Relief Child and Youth Care Counsellor (South Surrey)

PEACE ARCH COMMUNITY SERVICES requires Child and Youth Care Counsellors to provide relief work for the Family Connections Center, a family re-integration program. FCC is a residentially based family counselling orientated service for adolescents 13-16 yrs experiencing intense and protracted conflict with their parents. Youth go home on weekends. The program helps families develop more favorable solutions to the problems represented by such conflicts by offering family therapy sessions and parenting sessions, in addition to the residential piece which incorporates group and rec programs.
Relief Child and Youth Care Counsellors are responsible for day to day child care activities in the residential program. These activities include carrying out daily routines and therapeutic activities, behaviour management, report writing and communication with families.
Although there is no weekend work, must be available to work evening and overnight shifts throughout the week.
Qualifications:
-Related Diploma or Degree
-CYC experience necessary
-Valid driver’s license
-Current First Aid
-Criminal Record Clearance
-NVCI, Food Safe is an asset
