E-COMMERCE IMPLEMENTATION SPECIALIST (Burnaby)

Cansel Survey Equipment is a national distributor of survey, mapping instruments and accessories. With ten locations nationwide, the company has been a leader in its field for forty years.
We require a talented and motivated E-Commerce Implementation Specialist to join our team. Working as part of a small team you will be challenged to support and maintain existing applications and work on a variety of projects, CRM’s and web applications. The successful applicant will understand new media products, have an unrivaled knowledge of web technology and have a passion for building products/systems that will make a difference.
Working closely with Marketing, the Web Producer’s primary role is the production and maintenance of content for designated Cansel websites with a secondary focus in database management.
Skills required:
· Strong Knowledge of XHTML, CSS, JavaScript, PHP5, XML technologies
· Experience with FTP
· Familiarity with Joomla/Mambo CMS or other CMS Solutions
· Problem Solving & Bug Checking
· User Interface Design expertise
· Development of E-Commerce Platforms (CMS, applications)
· Web 2.0 Trends and Development
· Working knowledge of databases specifically MySQL5
· Web analytics
· Familiarity with SugarCRM
· ActionScript 2.0 and ActionScript 3.0 Flash/Flex/AIR development
· Comfortable working with on a linux platform
· CSS, Joomla, JavaScript, Ajax, XHTML, XML technologies, ASP.Net (C#)
· Adobe Creative Suite knowledge; specifically Adobe Illustrator and Adobe Photoshop
· Microsoft Office

Experience & Education:
· Minimum 2 to 5 years of experience in website design and with content management software
· Exposure to the graphic design environment: a creative eye and understanding of how to get the most out of imagery use
· Diploma or Degree in Website Development
· Verbal and Written fluency in both English/Canadian French a plus
