Discovery Software is on the hunt for a few fresh minds. We’re looking for an energetic web developer with experience building and maintaining web sites and applications using PHP5, JavaScript, Apache, and MySQL. An interest in systems administration for LAMP setups on AWS and experience with MVC frameworks (like CodeIgniter) are a huge plus, as is a passion for clear writing and a love of web standards.
What would you be doing? You would be responsible for creating an exciting new web application, including web services, rich web interfaces, and scaling tools that work with Amazon’s EC2 and related services.
What do we do? We build software for education. Our products are aimed at educators and administrators, to make their jobs easier. We currently target several platforms including Windows XP/Vista, OS X, iPhone, BlackBerry, Palm, and Windows Mobile. Discovery Software has been building tools for the K-12 market for more than 23 years, and we love it. Our primary product, Principalm, is used in thousands of schools across North America.
