full time Sr. Technical Writer - 4 month contract (Richmond)

We are looking for an experienced individual to lead a content audit on a large set of legacy documents for our Extended Enterprise suite of business management products.

You must be a change agent and visionary who can strategize with management and staff to implement a single-source solution for multiple deliverables.

This is a 4 month contract position in our Richmond, BC office.

Job Responsibilities:
• Plan for the creation, publication, and governance of useful, re-usable content for online help and documents.
• Work with management to develop and maintain the project plan, tasks, and milestones to meet strategic objectives and project requirements.
• Perform a content audit/inventory of existing online help and documents, and establish guidelines for modularizing content for multi-channel delivery.
• Work with management and cross-functional teams to develop best practices and guidelines for content development.
• Interact with subject matter experts to determine accuracy of current content set.
• Develop a single-source strategy using MadCap Flare.
• Direct, manage, and plan the activities of a team assigned to port and edit content.

Qualifications:

Required:
• Masters degree in Instructional Design or a related discipline preferred.
• Aptitude and desire to thrive in a fast-paced environment.
• 5+ years experience analyzing legacy documentation and modularizing content into reusable chunks for multiple audiences.
• 5+ years experience developing topic-based content using help authoring tools.
• Strong leadership capabilities, strong judgement, and the ability to work effectively with subject matter experts, management, and peers at all levels.
• Supervisory and administrative experience.
• Expert written and oral communication skills
• Localization experience.
• Demonstrated ability to perform user and task analysis.

Preferred:
• Experience with Sage Accpac Extended Enterprise Suite.
• Knowledge of financial accounting.
• Project management experience.
• Intermediate to advanced knowledge of CSS.
• Advanced user of MadCap Flare.
