Working as part of a marketing team, you will lead web design execution and contribute to the Internet marketing strategy development. You will be responsible for creating and updating various SFU Continuing Studies websites by developing initial design documents and turning them into user-friendly, database-driven, online community-focused, interactive web experiences. Acting as a web 2.0 subject-matter expert, you will work on enhancing the Continuing Studies Internet marketing efforts to the web 2.0 interactivity, technology and design levels.
Please note this position is located at the SFU Vancouver campus.
Required skills and experience:
? Undergraduate degree in web design or related field and 3 years related experience in designing creative, user-friendly, database-driven, online community-focused, interactive websites at the web 2.0 level or an equivalent combination of education, training and experience.
? Excellent knowledge of web design software and tools, including XHTML and CSS.
? Demonstrated ability to hand code.
? Excellent skills in Adobe CS3 applications, particularly Dreamweaver, InDesign, Fireworks, Flash, Photoshop, and Illustrator.
? Excellent knowledge and demonstrated experience with cross-browser and cross-platform issues (IE, Firefox, Safari, etc.).
? Familiarity with XML and JavaScript.
? Working knowledge with a variety of operating systems, especially Windows 95 –XP and Mac OS X.
? Working knowledge of web standards and user interface best practices.
? Excellent knowledge of current web design trends and techniques.
? Working knowledge of MS Office.
? Ability to create HTML, text e-newsletters, podcasts, and webinars
? Familiarity with web design for mobile browsing.
? Excellent interpersonal, organizational, facilitation, training and communication (oral and written)
skills.
? Excellent analytical reasoning, problem-solving, and conflict-resolution skills.
? Excellent project management skills in leading projects.
You must be able to show a strong online portfolio of highly creative web 2.0-level design, code samples that demonstrate required hand coding skills and experience developing database-driven websites.
Duration: Temporary position starting ASAP to May 31, 2010
Salary Range: $54,654 – $65,269 per annum (effective July 1, 2009)
