Salary Range: Grid Level 14 ($20.39 – $23.98 per hour)

The successful candidate will possess a University Degree in Social Science or Business Administration, and a minimum of two years experience in job development and community placement. You have proven experience in work placement and experience working in a multicultural, non-profit setting.
The candidate should have strong sales and PR skills, exceptional verbal and written communication skills, knowledge of the labour market and be familiar with career training programs, professional or trade associations, regulatory bodies and have experience in dealing with diverse client groups. Your responsibilities will include developing jobs and connecting clients with employers in their respective professions; interviewing and screening participants for program eligibility; conducting assessments, monitoring progress by providing one-to-one coaching and generating reports on outcomes. You will work closely with community stakeholders, including regulatory bodies, Industry Training Authority (ITA), public and private training institutions as well as employers to identify their recruitment and training needs. You will negotiate with employers on conditions of employment or work experience commensurate to the client’s qualifications and experience and develop a consortium of employers, training institutions and regulatory bodies to assist in program development. A second language is an asset.
Please note that a vehicle is required for this position, as the Apprenticeship and Trades Facilitator will promote programs to the external community. In additions, you are required to work some evenings and weekends depending on client needs.
