Mt Seymour Ski Resort is currently seeking a dynamic, enthusiastic, results-oriented individual with strong interpersonal skills to succeed in the position of Sales & Marketing Coordinator.
Term of Employment:
Full time, seasonal position August 24, 2009 – April 30, 2010, with a possibility for renewal for the next season.
This is a salaried position with partial benefits.
Salary: $3,120 per month based on experience, knowledge and skills.
Summary of Responsibilities:
Reporting to, and under the direction of, the Sales & Marketing Manager, the Sales and Marketing Coordinator is responsible for assisting with the implementation of the 2009-2010 Sales & Marketing Plan. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to, assisting with the management and execution of Group & Corporate Sales, Promotions, Advertising, Communications, Brand Maintenance, Partnerships & Sponsorships, Events, Website Updates, E-Newsletters, Customer Research, and Media Relations.
Responsibilities:
- Helping to achieve and maximize sales and marketing objectives.
- Helping to upholding Mt. Seymour’s vision, mission and brand.
- Compliance with all Mt. Seymour policies and procedures, including those set out in the Employee Handbook.
- Working with the Sales & Marketing Manager to implement and execute the 2009-2010 Sales & Marketing Plan.
- Overall plan administration, tracking and evaluation.
- Oversee public and media relations with assistance by the General Manager and the Ski & Snowboard Manager.
- Managing the preparation and execution of all events (on and off site), including managing meetings with Internal Events Committee.
- Helping administer the departments tasks, action items, and budgets.
- Representing the department at bi-weekly management meetings.
- Develop and maintain sales databases and communications/booking tracking.
- Assisting with creative and website work.
- Distributing all sales and promotional materials.
- Helping represent Mt Seymour in a professional manner at industry events and functions.
- Writing and disseminating press releases and promotional materials.
- Must be able to work flexible shifts throughout the winter season, including weekends.
- The Sales & Marketing is located on Mt Seymour, candidate need to have access to their own vehicle.
Position Qualifications:
- Tourism, Sales and Marketing, Business Administration, and/or related management degree or diploma from recognized post-secondary institution.
- Minimum 2 years tourism, sales, marketing and events experience.
- Preference to candidates with experience working in the ski and snowboard industry.
- Good knowledge of the winter recreation industry.
- Understanding of the importance of branding, brand consistency and effective communication to target markets
- Excellent oral and written communication skills.
- Excellent interpersonal skills.
- Comfort and experience in dealing with public and media relations.
- Attention to detail.
- Goal orientated with good time management abilities.
- Well organized, highly motivated and works well independently.
- Well presented – must be able to represent Mt. Seymour in a professional manner in a wide variety of situations.
- The ability to work well under pressure and can easily multi-task.
