Engineering & Maintenance Manager (Delta, BC)

We employ over 425 employees, many of whom have been with us for over 15 years, in our Delta, BC facility.
We are looking for a Engineering & Maintenance Manager to provide leadership through coordination of the technical staff with the goal of reducing maintenance costs while improving operating equipment effectiveness and maximizing output. This person will also facilitate the introduction of new equipment and tools to consistently improve the way maintenance and production tasks are accomplished for effective and efficient plant operation.
Duties will include:
• Mentor, guide and support team of engineers, operating engineers, millwrights, and electricians in all job functions and responsibilities
• Develop of short and long term goals that support corporate objectives
• Identify skills gaps and develop supportive training and development plans for technical staff
• Development and ownership for maintenance budget
• Demonstrate fiscal responsibility and accountability in decision making
• Negotiate and manage contract and service agreements
• Develop preventive and predictive maintenance policies and procedures
• Champion of organizational culture of people, change, and high performance through the engagement of employees and a focused approach to performance management
• Maintain safe and economical operation of all plant systems and equipment
Qualifications:
Education and Work Experience:
• 5 years of progressive management experience, preferably in a food production plant
• Engineering degree or equivalent experience and education an asset
Specialized Knowledge and Skills:
• Experience with ammonia refrigeration plants is an asset
• Proficient knowledge of mechanical and electrical systems
• Proficient understanding of control systems, Mitsubishi PLC experience an asset
• Strong troubleshooting skills
• Strong understanding of Industrial Health & Safety regulations
• Excellent project planning and management skills
• Experience in sanitary design
Equipment and Applications:
• Proficient with general office applications, control systems software
