Warehouse Worker (Port Coquitlam, BC)

Fit Foods is currently seeking a full time Warehouse Worker to work in a busy warehouse. The incumbent is responsible for daily activities involved in warehousing, shipping, stock transfer, staging, and interdepartmental support. The incumbent will use hand pallet jacks, forklifts, mobile moving stairs, and stretch wrap equipment. A Warehouse worker must receive, and record the movements of supplies, materials, and stock to and from an establishment. This position will act as back up for the Warehouse Supervisor and reports directly to the Warehouse Supervisor.
Responsibilities:
• Assist in controlling all aspects of the receiving and storing process; including responsibility for all documentation related to incoming and outgoing finished goods. Timely and accurate data entry into BV.
• Coordinate and perform material handling activities; receive product, move product to staging, or loading on trailers for warehouse transfer, rotate stock using hand or power truck, fork lift, or by manual labour
• Maintain warehouse activity records including; lost/damaged shipments as required for insurance documentation and for internal reporting purposes
• Studying daily production schedule to determine most efficient order for movement of raw materials, pull items from stock when ordered (staging) finished products, etc.
• Council and administer discipline to subordinates when Supervisor is absent, responsible to enforce work standards, health and safety standards, and SOP’s governing quality and quantity
• Unpack and check goods received against purchase orders or invoices, maintain records of received goods, reject unsatisfactory items where necessary
• Unloading and loading of raw material carrier trucks, unload-load, and/or receive & unpack product deliveries using material handling equipment
• Verify & inspect incoming material against purchase orders, reporting discrepancies. Check goods and documentation entering warehouse to ensure they are complete
• Palletize material in accordance with prescribed storage methods, rearranging and taking inventory of stored items, examining stored materials, and reporting deterioration and damage, removing material, and preparing it for shipment
• Picks and maintains stock and locations of product line items and raw material line items, loading of material and monitoring FIFO, and expiration dates
• Studying daily production schedule to determine most efficient order for movement of raw materials, pull items from stock when ordered (staging)
• Some administrative duties; prepare and maintains records of merchandise shipped, coordination of ingoing & outgoing shipments between production, quality, customs, and traffic
• Packaging and labeling of various products for outgoing shipments, wrap and palletize material to be shipped
• Maintain and transact inventory movements using inventory control system, performs cycle counts
• Cleaning and maintaining the warehouse, comply with safety, health, environmental, and quality requirements
• Completes all administrative duties in a timely and accurate manner
• Performing other related duties as assigned
Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities:
• Designation or work experience in Warehouse Operations or Logistics, and with prior 2-3 years work experience in Warehouse environment
• Previous Warehouse/Inventory/Stockroom /Supervision experience preferred
• Strong leadership and interpersonal skills
• Must have 1-2 years experience operating forklifts & possess current Forklift Certification, and must have CSA approved steel toe shoes or boots
• Must be able to lift 30-60lbs regularly for extended periods of time
• Reliable individual, highly organized, with an ability to calculate, a good memory, and must be able to work accurately in a fast paced environment with minimal supervision
• Good communication (written, listening, understanding, speaking), planning, and teamwork
• Basic computer skills and knowledge of Microsoft Office, prior experience with BV an asset
• Ability to effectively and efficiently handle multiple, simultaneous, and complex tasks and projects
• Must be able to routinely lift 25-60lbs for extended period of time, must have forklift certification & CSA approved safety boots.
