UBC Smoking Cessation Study (Vancouver )
at Human Resources in Vancouver
Planning on quitting smoking?
Take part in a University of British Columbia research study. We want to learn more about people’s experiences during smoking cessation. If you are seriously thinking about quitting and would like to get some support and tips, share your knowledge, and earn a little reward, please consider taking part in our study.
Take this simple test to see if either you, or someone you know, is eligible to participate in our study:
-Have you smoked more than 10 cigarettes/day for the past few years?
-Are you ready to set a quit date and stick to it?
-Are you aged 19 to 65 and fluent in English?
If you answered YES to these questions please read on!
We will ask you to:
-Visit our lab on the UBC Vancouver campus twice in the days surrounding your chosen quit date
-Fill out some questionnaires, complete some computer-based tasks, and monitor your cravings at home for a few days
-Possibly take part in a brief discussion about your cessation experiences
All participants will receive $40 and a helpful smoking cessation handbook.
If you are interested in this study please call Liz at 604-822-8025 or email us at smokingstudy@psych.ubc.ca to receive more information and get involved.
We appreciate your help.
