Reintegration Workers – Addiction Services
As part of our innovative three-year demonstration project, you will be providing support to youth reintegrating into their community following residential addiction treatment. You will report to the Manager of Addiction Services and be responsible for linking youth and their families with appropriate community supports post-treatment. You will have:
- Clinical experience with youth with addiction issues who are involved in the criminal justice system – An ability to build meaningful relationships with high-risk, high-need youth and their families – A sound understanding of addiction philosophy (biopsychosocial spiritual model; transtheoretical model of change; harm reduction continuum) – Experience working with families – Case management experience beneficial – Research experience
You have completed post-secondary education in a relevant field and have experience working with high-risk youth. Master level education is preferred. Formal training in substance use or addiction counselling is beneficial. You possess excellent interpersonal, communication and computer skills. You demonstrate strong initiative and can work well independently with effective supervision. The successful candidate must receive advanced security clearance. A valid BC Driver’s license is required. Some travel throughout the province will be necessary.
This is a Unionized position within BCGEU. Wages and benefits will be per the Collective Agreement. This position is subject to funding.
