Manufacturing Maintenance Electrician (Burnaby)

My client is a stable, established, food manufacturer and is looking for an experienced Maintenance Electrician to support their busy operation. At this time, we are looking to add to our dedicated team of maintenance personnel with an individual that will share in the team’s commitment to providing the best possible service.
We are looking for a skilled electrician who is confident and able to make quick decisions without constant supervision. This is a great opportunity for someone looking to lay roots and grow in a financially stable organisation experiencing exciting growth.
Responsibilities:
• Work with senior maintenance staff to develop and continuously improve maintenance programs
• Support and develop: preventive/predictive maintenance programs, maintenance procedure standardisation, CMMS implementation
• Support production ensuring that all plant equipment is running at optimum levels
• Execution of electrical system overhauls and upgrades
• Troubleshoot machine-related issues as they arise
• Assist the commissioning of new automated equipment
• Support national continuous improvement initiatives and capital project execution
Requirements:
• Trades qualified electrician certification strongly preferred
• Minimum 3 years experience as an electrician in an automated manufacturing facility (preferably food)
• Familiarity with modern continuous improvement methodologies (Lean, 6-Sigma, 5Y, 5S, TPM) preferred
• Experience working with motors, drives, PLCs, sensors, etc
• Ability to read electrical schematics
• Good communication skills, strong problem-solving skills, and proven ability to adapt when challenged
