HR Advisor - Leave Management (Boulevard Casino, Coquitlam)

Great Canadian is seeking an energetic, guest focused Human Resources professional whose main focus will be on leave management. You will also be responsible for planning and directing HR initiatives and processing HR documentation. In this role you would motivate, lead by example and assist in providing a learning environment for staff and management. Key responsibilities include:
• Maintain the consistency and effectiveness of all Leave of Absences and Medical Leave of Absences
• Develop and monitor Gradual Return to Work Programs
• Manage Workers Compensation/Worksafe BC claims including WCAT and Review Division hearings
• Manage LTD claims in conjunction with insurance provider
• Support and educate operations management in managing disability and attendance with their employees
• Assist in the development and facilitation of training programs
• Provide HR advice and support to site managers and employees on processes and assist with issue resolution
• Support corporate HR initiatives, assist with surveys, policy and procedure revisions, implement new processes and procedures, roll out new programs, etc
• Facilitation of training programs and orientation
• Provide HR reports as requested; coordinate, process and enter HR documentation
• Support programs including Occupational Health and Safety & Disability Management
• Maintain information integrity in our HRIS system (JD Edwards).
• Liaise and communicate effectively with all operational departments; develop and cultivate strong working relationships with all stakeholders (guests, ownership and employees)
• Assist the Human Resources team with projects as required
• Other duties as required
Successful candidates will possess the following qualifications:
• Minimum three years experience in Human Resources
• Minimum two years of leave management experience
• CHRP or any other HR designation an asset
• Post-secondary education in human resources preferred
• Comprehensive computer skills including all Microsoft Office product, knowledge of Employer Connect and HRIS systems (JD Edwards an asset)
• Proven track-record of responsiveness and meeting deadlines
• Superior guest service orientation
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills with a strong attention to detail.
• Proven organizational, time management and problem solving skills
