(Term Position)
This position provides intermediate technical support and assistance to Engineering staff related to the completion of the environmental component of engineering projects. It will also provide program coordination of various environmental education initiatives. Expertise in fisheries and terrestrial-related activities as well as community outreach initiatives is required.
Applicants must be able to understand and interpret biological reports related to fisheries and terrestrial habitat, conduct meetings and make presentations to the public and staff, make sound decisions and solve technical and administrative problems. Must have ability to collect and analyze data and undertake database formation. Must be able to provide public education on environmental issues as well as work closely with various community stream keepers groups.
The successful applicant must have completion of a University Degree or recognized diploma in an area of environmental studies with minimum 2 years work experience in project inspection, environmental monitoring, public education and instream field experience.
You must hold a Valid B.C. Driver’s License with safe driving record and be able to successfully pass a Criminal Record Check.
