Marketing Manager – Contract position
Position Overview
The Marketing Manager will provide full support to the Director of Marketing and direct and manage a marketing team working collaboratively with internal/external business partners in the ongoing development and coordinating of all marketing activities pertaining to Casino events, promotions, advertising and creative needs.
Qualifications
• Post-secondary education in communications, marketing or public relations and/or relevant experience.
• Ability to work on one or more projects at one time, prioritize tasks and manage time wisely.
• Excellent administrative, organizational, oral communicative and written skills.
• Friendly, professional and outgoing demeanor.
• Ability to work independently with little or no supervision and solve problems.
• Strong computer knowledge including Excel, Word, PowerPoint and Outlook. Desktop publishing would be considered an asset.
• Event planning/execution experience is preferred.
• Casino experience an asset.
• Successful completion of probationary period, mandatory.
Experience
• Minimum 4-5 years relevant experience in a marketing position.
• Experience in the Gaming/Entertainment industry is preferred.
Responsibilities
• Manage creative requests, create copy/content, provide design direction and timely execution of artwork with the creative agency and respective suppliers/vendors. Projects include but are not limited to:
o Monthly direct mail; promotional signage and decoration; special events invitations, signage and ticketing; tournament collateral; property brochures and tradeshow displays; advertisements (outdoor, newspaper, magazine, transit, etc.); exterior property signage
• Working closely with media buyer for effective placement of media, tracking of budget and production of artwork for respective media buys.
• Create and/or proof of all press releases
• Oversees the planning of marketing promotions and events
• Maintain and update the property’s web site.
• Create and maintain effective working relationships with vendors and suppliers to efficiently source and order all collateral material including but not limited to printing (brochures, direct mail, posters etc.), signage, promotional items, and advertising.
• Build relationships with local businesses and organizations to source and evaluate sponsorship opportunities and establish other ‘co-marketing’ opportunities.
• Foster and maintain an effective working relationship with the BCLC to gain approval on all Edgewater Casino specific promotions and collateral as well to help implement all BCLC driven promotions (province-wide).
• Works closely with Director of Marketing to develop and execute annual marketing plan, maintain costs within prescribed budgets and assist in compiling month end reports and financials.
• Manage the Special Events & Promotions Coordinator and execution of all property-wide promotions from conception through implementation.
• Manage the Marketing Coordinator and their responsibilities including moderate desktop design execution, translations and promotional event assistance.
• Other projects and duties as assigned.
